November's Moot - 'Creating the New Aeon and Averting Apocalypse!'

The following communication was sent to us by KaosCrow:

"This talk and discussion follows on from last Septembers Moot, 'Occult War for the New Aeon' in which we examined the many and various schools of thought and theories of impending Apocalypse and whether or not shadowy occult cartels manipulate human evolution.
Taking the conclusion that whatever the causes, or indeed whatever the 'truth' behind the scenes, we cannot escape the fact that civilisation stands on the brink of a collapse of monumental scale. Our symbol for that talk was Atu XVI, The Tower.

Over a year has passed and the world slips further toward disaster but from the ashes the phoenix can rise... If we've the will to change and to direct that change for humanities benefit.
We now take Atu XX, the Aeon, as our symbol as we examine how we can change and adapt our ideas and thinking in order to gestate a fundamental change in the direction of human evolution. Be under no illusions some of your deepest held beliefs will be challenged by this talk and if no-one walks away without at least some of their beliefs in tatters I will be dissapointed!

Hail Eris!"

See you at the Red Lion at 4pm on Sunday the 6th of November - there will not be any Hot Dog Buns this time round.

Intuitive Geomancy

Richard will be hosting this Sunday's (3/7/11) Avebury Moot (Red Lion at the usual time of 4pm). The Talk will be given by Richard's partner, Alda Gerchi, who will be coming along to give a talk and introduction to the subject of Intuitive Geomancy. Alda is Slovenian and has studied at the school of Marco Pogacnik in Slovenia. Marco has undertaken earth-healing and erected stone circles containing healing symbols (Cosmograms) in every corner of the globe, and Alda has been part of a number of significant stone circle projects with him.

Alda will be involved in a 2012 project to erect a stone-circle in London planned to coincide with the Olympics with the intention of ameliorating any disruptive energies associated with that event.

Many thanks Mooties

April Moot 2011 - Maria Whaetley and Busty Taylor!

Greetings Mooties - this Month I'm delighted to confirm that Maria Wheatley and Busty Taylor are coming along to present their talk... Redicovering the Avebury Henge and the Earth Force. For the full low down click HERE - all the details are on last month's post. Circumstances meant that they couldn't make it last time.

Remember - we start at 4pm these days..

Also... something odd is happening in Swindon... check this out!

Does modern science have it’s roots in the occult?

Swindon Libraries will be playing host to bestselling authors Clive Prince and Lynn Picknett as they talk about their new book The Forbidden Universe.

Were the first scientists hermetic philosophers? What do these occult origins of modern science tell us about the universe today? The Forbidden Universe reveals the secret brotherhood that defined the world, and perhaps discovered the mind of God.

All the pioneers of science, from Copernicus to Newton via Galileo, were inspired by Hermeticism. Men such as Copernicus, Galileo, Newton, Leibniz, Bacon, Kepler, Tycho Brahe – even Shakespeare – owed much of their achievements to basically occult beliefs – the hermetica.

In this fascinating study, Lynn Picknett and Clive Prince go in search of the Hermetic origins of modern science and prove that not everything is as it seems and that over the past 400 years there has been a secret agenda behind our search for truth. From the age of Leonardo da Vinci, the influence of hermetic thinking upon the greatest minds in history has been hidden, a secret held by a forbidden brotherhood in search of the mind of God.

Join the authors at the Central Library on Thursday 14th April at 7:30pm.

Tickets are £2 (£1.50 concessions) and are available from the First Floor Help point at the Central library.

Call 01793 463238 or see www.swindon.gov.uk/libraries for more details.

March Moot - Rediscovering Avebury Henge and The Earth Force

For the coming March moot I’m delighted to announce that Maria Wheatley will be joining us. Maria is author and co-author of a number of books including:

Avebury: Sun, Moon and Earth
Ancient Sites of Stonehenge
The Essential Dowsing Guide: 1
Stonehenge: An Investigation into Earth Energies

Maria also wrote Avebuy: Sun, Moon and Earth with another writer, Busty Taylor, who I’m also delighted to say will be joining us and presenting the first part of the talk. Busty will start things with an examination of Avebury’s solar alignments, followed by Maria who will talk to us about ley lines and earth energies.

Avebury is a regional power centre which holds many secrets. At specific times of the year the Sun and Moon interact with certain stones creating mysterious shadow lines and also linear lines of intense bright light, which were used in past rituals. Intriguingly, surrounding stone circles and mounds were aligned upon these light/yang and shadow/yin lines which can extend for miles and possibly inspired the ley line phenomena.

Powerful earth energies were also integrated into Avebury’s megalith architecture which are absorbed and transmitted by the standing stones – the electromagnetic frequencies of which were recently detected by sensitive electronic equipment. Further investigations revealed that when megalithic or earth energy is contained, by constructing certain stylised monuments, paraterrestrial activity causes mind-altering affects, time-lapses, and spirit manifestations. Maria describes which earthen and stone structures were designed to produce paraterrestrial affects and how to recognise and interact with the Earth Force within Avebury’s timeless landscape.

Fascinating stuff, I think you’ll agree, and I’m certainly looking forwards to enjoying March’s moot on Sunday 6th at the new time of 4pm at the Red Lion.

Andrew Collins presents: Avebury – The Cygnus Mystery

Sunday 6th @ 4.00pm

Greetings Mooties, this coming moot will be presented by the famous author Andrew Collins. For this moot Andrew asks, is Avebury aligned to the constellation of the Northern Cross, also known as Cygnus, the celestial swan. This was the discovery of Professor Alexander Thom in the 1960s, and rubbished by American archaeoastronomer Professor Gerald Hawkins, famous for announcing that Stonegenge was a Neolithic calendar clock.

Andrew Collins investigated and found that Thom was correct – Avebury is aligned to Cygnus. Yet if so why? What is the significance of this much overlooked constellation positioned so prominently on the Milky Way? The answer is that it has been seen as the point of
origin of life and universe, as well as the destination of the soul in death for cultures and civilizations around the world for many thousands of years. Its influence is reflected in the alignments of the Pyramids of Giza, the Indian mound sites of North America, the great temple of Cusco, and the Hindu temples of India. In his book THE CYGNUS MYSTERY, Andrew shows that Cygnus has been at the root of religions worldwide for over 30,000 years.

You can have a look at Andrew Collins site here by the way - check out the books page!

Please note that the start time for this presentation is 4pm, so please ensure you get there a little early as we'll be starting on time.
